Tuppenny the guinea pig sets out from home determined to start a new life. Tuppenny and his new friends travel the countryside, performing for the animals of the farms and fields, and share many magical adventures along the way, such as the day Paddy Pig gets lost in the enchanted woods… Beatrix Potter wrote this chapter book for older children towards the end of her writing career. She wrote it for her own pleasure and at the request of friends in America who shared her love of the Lake District and north country tales.
